It's crunchtime everyone! We have come down to the final week of our fundraiser for the Mekesha Bowling family. We also have some great news we would like to share with you! Chick-Fil-A of Elizabethton has donated a special "gift basket" with the following goodies:
1 RTIC Cooler
2 30 oz. RTIC Tumblers
2 Nike Chick-Fil-A hats
4 Meal Gift Cards
We'll be doing a special drawing for it on Friday July 30th. Until then, you still have time to donate to this wonderful family. For every $10.00 you donate, you will get one (1) entry in the giveaway! If you donate $100.00, you will get two (2) bonus entries for a total of twelve (12) entries! We're very thankful to Tommy Tipton and the whole Elizabethton Chick-Fil-A crew for their love and support they've shown for this young family!
So, don't forget, until the end of this month, we are still taking donations for them. You have the opportunity to help by visiting the donations page HERE, or calling the Elizabethton Chiropractic office at 423.542.3337. We are accepting the donation amount of your choice in either cash, check, credit or debit card. The last business day of the month (July 30th) we will be taking all payments made at the office (copays, supplement orders, etc.), and they will be donated to the family. Mekesha Bowling, mother of 3, is dealing with a form of cancer called Multiple Myeloma. Her insurance has not fully paid for her treatments, but there is good news. Mekesha says, “In my mind, soul, and heart, I’ve beat this! Cancer opened my mind, it has made me live more carefree, and it’s given me a closer relationship to God. Sometimes things happen that stops us in our tracks, it’s God giving us an opportunity to show his work.
Today was my day to show his work. We met my new doctor today and he was amazed with how remarkable my work up was. He said looking at where I started at, the myeloma should’ve been eating me up with all the lesions and tumors. He was happy to inform that was not the case. I’m not considered high risk myeloma nor is it as aggressive. The light chains that determine MM are faint and not many of them in my blood. Guys, that’s the Lord’s work!! Before you doubt what I’m saying, the only treatment I have received was radiation that helped the tumor but nothing to tackle the cancer."
(Mekesha began her first treatment in Knoxville on July 26th. She had a slight reaction to the medicines, but after some adjustments and a medicine to help calm the reaction, she's back on track. Next treatment will be Thursday the 29th. She remains very optimistic and is in good spirits!)
A special message to our patient members from Justin and Mekesha:
"We appreciate all the donations, support and most importantly all the prayers. It’s been a difficult journey and it’s still the beginning, but with the continued help of the community we will get through this." - Justin Bowling
"Thank you so much, your prayers and very generous donations mean the world to me!" - Mekesha Bowling
